Ostrava, 14.6.2008 - JoomSEF 3.1 has just left a long-lasting beta testing phase. The popular SEO component for making Joomla! URLs search engine friendly is now available for download. The 3.1 series in now Joomla! 1.5 native component, so it does not need legacy mode to run.
ARTIO JoomSEF is SEO (Search Engine Optimization) component for Joomla! that will make your URLs Search Engine Friendly (SEF). Version 3.x is introducing compatibility with Joomla 1.5 series CMS. Now this component is native!
This component will make your Joomla! URLs look nice and natural, making it easier to understand both for search engine robots (crawlers) and visitors of your site (humans). Instead of URLs including IDs and parameters, you will get URLs describing the content and its categorization, giving the idea about the contents at the first sight.
Version 3.x series are compatible with Joomla! 1.5. The newest version, 3.1.x is already a native Joomla 1.5 component. Please note that at the moment, you need to upgrade 3.0.x to 3.1.0 by uninstalling the old and installing the new component, the auto-update is not supported at the moment.

JoomSef is totally waiste of
JoomSef is totally waiste of time. Results are duplicated metatags, spam, ads and Google is kicking me off. Since I removed JoomSEF, it was only running on one website, I was welcome by Google again… If pageranks are important for you, and a good relationship with Google, do NOT use this extension at all… it will destroy you!!! It also destroys your htaccess file… lucky I got a copy on an another Joomla installation to recover my website… don’t like extensions that change your precious htaccess file without asking permission to do so… sometimes is it better just to do it manually…

I think you havent true! Because where you have duplicatet Content??? Metatags you can change by every single website and title too. i think you havent so much experience about that. With htaccess file i havent not every get an problem, if your server have an good configuration the script overwrite your htaccess and you dont change it byself. and what´s the problem to change it? you must only copy the code :-) by the way... i like this tool very much, but not the same version... i take it from Kanga internet... because i mean this script write you an comment in your html resources...
I'm having problems with
I'm having problems with configuring this mambot properly and getting it to work. The url redirection works perfectly, but the custom meta tags were a total failure.
I'm struggling on a daily basis to get this addon to work, because of the duplicate description and title tags across my site, I'm being penalized from google.
I hope that I'll get it to work soon, because I like this component.

Although I don't like
Although I don't like freebies a lot but am not going to purchase something for a open source CMS. I think this is plain ridiculous thing to install a open source free stuff and then to purchase different components for it. Just for that reason, I have removed Joomla from all my blog and they have Drupal now.
